Art on the Roof founders, Melita Noël Cantú (CEO) and Javier López Cantú (Creative Director), are a husband and wife team who have been inspired to live a creative, community-centered life through art, and giving their time and treasure to a number of non-profits throughout North America. For over 15 years, Javi has painted and sold his paintings through Javier López Cantú Artworkstudio. With a background in education and non-profit management, Melita manages the business side of things.
Art on the Roof serendipitously emerged during a rooftop party in downtown Austin. During a gorgeous sunset, Javi and Melita began dreaming about celebrating art, artists and giving back to the community – all with great views in cities all over North America.

“In our work with Art on the Roof, Javi and I focus on promoting local artists through high-end pop-up art benefits for local non-profits in cities throughout North America, such as Austin, Boston, Fort Worth/Dallas and the San Francisco Bay Area. In each juried show, we feature emerging and established artists who are creating innovative work that pushes the edges of contemporary art today. Every non-profit we work with does good works in service to the community with a creative, innovative approach. And we love to celebrate art with communities brimming with great people, great food and wine, and great views.”
